Highway 313 Cleanup – Volunteers Needed: Team Rio is looking for volunteers to assist in trash removal on Highway 313, north of the roundabout located at the intersection of Tramway and Roy. There is more trash on the highway that one team can manage so Team Rio is requesting assistance from other local teams to assist in cleanup activities. As an incentive to assist in their efforts Side Track Brewing of Albuquerque is offering each participant FREE BEER at their downtown location.
Work begins at 2:00 pm on Saturday March 18th, 2017. Meet at the Sandia Pueblo Rail Runner parking lot located just north of the intersection of Roy and Tramway. Work will continue until completed or sunset, which ever comes first.
Bring gloves, heavy shoes and water. The New Mexico Department of Transportation will provide high-visibility vests and trash bags.
HDB Wednesday Night MTB Ride: HDB held its inaugural Wednesday night MTB ride on March 15th at the Michael Emory Trail Head. About 18 riders showed for non-denominational event. Maybe it was the free libations provided afterward that accounted for the good showing.
Parking at the trail head was a bit of a challenge so Jason is considering a new gathering point for the ride.
We will meet again Wednesday March 22nd at 6:00 pm leaving at 6:15 pm. The final meeting location has not been determined. We will update the HDB ride calendar and send out a team notice once the meeting location has been finalized.
The ride is open to all-comers. Invite friends and family or holler at a stranger on a mountain bike. But get em to the ride!
Come on man! Get out and ride with yer mates. It’s more fun that way!
